Tuesday January 16th, our final full day in Nuremberg.
The morning started with breakfast at the hotel and a session of math. The topic today being power series and Taylor series. A topic familiar to most of us, but also buried deep in at least my mind, so it took some practice to coax the knowledge back out.
We then took a short break and reconvened to go on a day trip. Our first stop was Erlangen, the birth place of Emmy Noether, where we walked to a plaque dedicated to her.
We then made a quick u-turn and jumped back on a train to our next destination, Bamberg. Upon arrival in Bamberg, we split up and found places for lunch. A group of us ended up at a pizza place where we ordered a total of 6 margarita pizzas, as well as a couple other dishes. The pasta was very good, even though I may have burned my tongue. From there we walked to the Cathedral in Bamberg which was absolutely stunning, despite there being construction going on.
Afterward, I split off and wandered around the city, a beautiful place with lots of great stores to look at, and a nice river that ran through the middle. On my adventure I met some friends, let me introduce you to them. First was my squad of ducks, they came up to me when I stopped by the river, they must have thought I had food, but I did not.
My other friend was this fellow who resided on the bridge with a great view of the river, his name was Sir. Beardy.
After walking around for a while, I met up with a couple of friends (this time from the trip) and we got dinner at Schlenkerla, a German food place. I chose the blue sausages, that being said they were not actually blue, however they tasted delicious. That concluded my day in Bamberg and we headed back to Nuremberg for one last night before Heidelberg.
