We finished up learning new material this morning, this time ending our equity conversations for the program. We say goodbye to our ‘classroom’ as we (hopefully) all gear up for our presentations on including topics about what we’ve learned this semester. I will miss collaborating with such an intelligent and inspiring group of people! - Olivia
As we discovered the day previous, IKEA is quite a good option for lunch. Much more affordable than most restaurants in Stockholm, and nonetheless pretty tasty. Naturally, we decided to go again today, and in the end, about fourteen of us made the trek down to the nearest one. The transit passes have come in handy for this, since there's a bus that gets us pretty close, as well as a metro stop effectively in the IKEA. We split off a bit after lunch, but some of us took the metro back to the T-Centralen station and were able to actually navigate it this time, as three of us got very lost trying to get out of the station the day before. - Otto
As we get closer to presenting our final projects, I’ve been exploring several different coffee shops around Stockholm for study spots! Today I went to Espresso House in the old town and ordered an oat milk cappuccino, which was pretty tasty. I was able to finish my research and slides for the project, making for a productive afternoon before we visited Sofia Kovalevskaya's grave :) - lili
Today, several of us took a string of buses to get to a graveyard which contained a famous mathematician and a scientist: Sofia Kovalevskaya and Alfred Nobel! The former of the two produced some important results in mathematics and physics, which we studied in class. We managed to traverse the icy ground to the two gravestones and snap a group picture before riding back to the hotel and splitting off for dinner. Personally, I had some excellent “Dirty Fajita Nachos” in the hotel restaurant! -zach
